We will present "Rapid Expansion of Moodle Usage due to COVID-19! Introduction of the Current Situation" at Japan MoodleMoot 2021.
We will be presenting at the Japan MoodleMoot 2021, held from February 18th (Thursday) to February 20th (Saturday), on the theme of "Rapid Expansion of Moodle Usage due to COVID-19: An Introduction to the Current Situation".
MoodleMoot is a conference about Moodle, an open-source LMS (Learning Management System) widely used.
Held every February, presentations about how to use Moodle in universities are given.
This year, there will be a keynote speech by Moodle HQ CEO Dougiamas Martin on the theme of "The Role of Moodle in the Future of Education".

Moodle Usage Rapidly Expanding Due to COVID-19! Introduction to the Current Situation Date and Time: February 20, 2021 (Saturday) 15:20-15:40 Summary: Due to the spread of COVID-19, educational institutions that have not previously utilized e-learning are now forced to do so. Live lessons using web conferencing systems have been provided, but there is a need for unified management and concerns about leaving the lessons available for too long, leading to an increase in interest in Moodle usage. There is also a trend towards recording lessons and distributing them on demand. It is said that there are over 100 million users of Moodle, and it is commonly thought that it is mainly used in educational institutions. However, it is actually more widely used in business settings. Many public institutions have provided in-person training, but due to COVID-19, it is no longer possible to hold face-to-face training, leading to consideration of providing training through Moodle. Since the spread of COVID-19, our company, a Moodle partner, has received many inquiries about Moodle. We will introduce the current situation and how Moodle is being used.
