He retired at the mandatory retirement age at Japan Tobacco Inc. (JT) at the end of March 2020. In his previous career, he mainly worked as a system engineer for 33 years in the information systems department, serving as the head of the IT department and experiencing scrap & build. After reorganizing the IT department and expanding the organization size threefold over ten years, from 2016 to 2018, he relocated with his family to the global headquarters (700 IT staff) in Geneva, Switzerland, joining the IT management team and concurrently advancing global integration and DX. He experienced creating global IT strategies, talent management within DX, and shifting to enterprise agile before returning to Japan.
Currently, as the Director of the NPO Digital Business Innovation Center, he is focusing on activities to nurture the next generation of corporate reform leaders. While serving as a facilitator for training courses here, he also collaborates with the center’s partners, including the International Institute for Management Development (IMD) and the Danish Design Center, designing training programs and supporting communities. He supports individuals in freeing themselves from attachments to company organizations and past successes, encouraging continuous learning. Centered on creating growth through safety, security, and smiles, he continues to operate his community in his own unique style, free from conventional frameworks. |
