    Born in 1973 in Fukuoka Prefecture. Graduated from Waseda University and completed graduate studies at the University of Leicester. After working at Mitsubishi Research Institute, he became head coach of Waseda University Rugby Football Club in 2006, leading the team to two consecutive university championships with an autonomous support coaching method.
    In 2010, he was appointed as the first "Coach of Coaches" and Coaching Director at the Japan Rugby Football Union, responsible for coaching instructors. From 2012, he concurrently served three terms as head coach of the Japan U20 national team. He served as a board member from 2019 to 2021.
