Customer Requests
Nihon Densetsu Kogyo Co., Ltd. is engaged in railway electrical construction, general electrical construction, and information and communication construction, with operations spanning from Hokkaido to Kyushu across the country. Employee training is conducted at a training facility called Chuo Gakuen in Kashiwa City, Chiba Prefecture. However, to expand educational opportunities for over 2,000 employees nationwide and to integrate training history with the human resources system, the introduction of e-learning was being considered.
In January 2010, we received an inquiry about e-learning content through the Human Science website.
The planned materials will include 20 items in the first year. They will cover a wide range of topics, focusing on unique content from Nippon Densetsu Kogyo, such as accident recurrence prevention, technical skills, and operational procedures, as well as general topics like cost management and sales etiquette.
Key Points of the Proposal
Human Science proposes content in the "video production type" and "animation explanation type" to enhance understanding for learning about "operating procedures" and "accident recurrence prevention." We have also been recognized for our achievements in creating communication construction content using the same methods, leading to our order after a competition involving eight companies. Since 2010, we have created a total of over 100 teaching materials.
Point01.
Video Production
We propose the use of video presentations as suitable expressions for educational materials focused on "technical and skill" content, such as operational procedures and equipment explanations required at construction sites.
Point02.
Direction Using Animation
We proposed "animation explanation type" content that is suitable for learning materials such as "construction estimates", "cost management", and "safety rules", which clearly and simply explain the flow and rules of the business.
Point03.
Totara Learn LMS System Construction and Operation
A few years after the launch of the e-learning operation, we were contacted for changes to the e-learning system (LMS).
We proposed the open-source LMS Totara Learn.
As a result of a competition among three companies,
・Totara is customizable
・Implementation and operational costs are reasonable
・You can request everything from content creation to LMS in one stop
These points were highly evaluated, leading to the decision to implement it. We carried out the LMS replacement (LMS construction, data conversion) in 2017, and we are still operating it as of 2020.

Customer Feedback from Clients
Human Science Company has created over 100 teaching materials to date.
Our instructional material creators carry out document preparation and review tasks while juggling their primary responsibilities. At times, especially during busy periods, it can be very challenging to stay on schedule, but the representatives from Human Science consistently respond with a smile and attentively manage the situation, effectively leading our company and ensuring timely reminders for submission deadlines, demonstrating excellent management skills.
We had multiple representatives responding to us as many materials were being produced simultaneously, but each representative was quick to respond and produced results that exceeded our expectations without needing detailed explanations. We are very grateful for that.
Additionally, the previous LMS did not have sufficient features for managing test scores and course history, but since switching to Totara, it has been great to have the ability to customize it.
We will continue to develop educational materials in the future, and we expect you to continue leading our company with your inherent brightness.
From Human Science representatives
At the stage of 2010, the personnel responsible for creating educational materials at Nippon Densetsu Kogyo were in a situation where it was their first experience in developing e-learning materials. Therefore, clarifying the "process and roles" was one key to the development of the educational materials for each person in charge. By showing the overall process and clearly communicating points such as "what materials or data should be submitted at what timing in the process," "when the deadline will be if materials are to be provided," and "which parts we would like you to review during which period," using samples and other methods, I feel that this was helpful in this regard.
In addition, each person in charge has their main duties, and they take time to be responsible for teaching material development. "Reducing the burden on the person in charge" is another key point. We aimed to minimize meetings and improve communication efficiency by utilizing emails and questionnaires. I feel that we have been able to reduce the impact on the customer's regular operations as much as possible.
On the human science side, we will assign multiple personnel, and each of them has a strong awareness of process management and quality control. I believe that each person’s creativity and ingenuity in continuously releasing educational materials in line with the educational project plan of Nippon Densetsu Kogyo Co., Ltd. contributes to customer satisfaction.
