Introduction of e-Learning to Promote RPA Utilization

As a corporate goal, we aim to improve business efficiency by utilizing RPA (Robotic Process Automation). In order to promote DX, we have planned e-learning courses on "Logical Thinking," "Data Utilization," and "Overview of RPA," which have been implemented on Moodle. We have successfully created original e-learning materials and achieved cost reduction.

"Aiming for Business Efficiency through Utilizing RPA"

- Please tell us about the background of introducing e-learning.
Mr. Imai: At our company, we have set the goal of improving business efficiency through the use of RPA. In order to utilize RPA, we also recognized the need for IT education as a prerequisite.
In addition, due to the necessity of promoting DX, we planned to conduct e-learning on "Logical Thinking," "Data Utilization," and "Overview of RPA" in the Management Planning Department, which is also responsible for information system functions.

- Please tell us why you chose our company.
Mr. Kitsunezuka: Initially, we were considering using commercially available e-learning materials. However, since many of them are offered in a subscription format, it would be costly to provide them to all employees for a long-term e-learning program. Therefore, we decided to create original e-learning materials.
Mr. Takasawa: We planned to start our education program in January 2022 and contacted several companies in October 2021. Due to the urgency, we chose Human Science Co., Ltd. as they responded quickly and had good cost performance.
We were initially planning to start without an e-learning system, but Human Science Co., Ltd. introduced us to Moodle, an LMS. It is open-source and can be installed on-premises, so we installed it ourselves.
There were some settings that we were unsure about and we didn't have much time until the launch, so we decided to ask Human Science Co., Ltd., who had experience in building it.
We considered other LMS options that could be built on-premises, but we chose Moodle because it is open-source and cost-effective.

Customer Feedback

"Professional narration and animation make it easy to understand and easy to read."

- How has the response been since starting education through e-learning?
Mr. Kitsunezuka: We are targeting all employees, but more people are using it than initially planned.
From the participants, we have received feedback such as "It is easy to understand and easy to see with professional narration and animation."
Also, since the manuscript was created in PowerPoint and was developed for e-learning, it was good that it could be used not only for e-learning but also as materials for group training and seminars.
Mr. Takasawa: As for Moodle, there are some things that are not understood in terms of operation, but we have been able to operate it without any problems.

- How was the progress and communication of the project?
Mr. Kitsunezuka: We proceeded with the consideration in the dark because it was the first attempt of e-learning.
It was difficult to imagine what kind of teaching materials would be completed, but it turned out to be better than expected.
Mr. Takasawa: Not only did you meet the deadline, but I also felt that the same-day response to questions was good.
Regarding the introduction of Moodle, we were able to respond on the same day to inquiries. From the pre-contract stage, we were able to get a sense of security because we could get an immediate response to questions about what we could do and what kind of things we could do.

- Are there any future plans or new initiatives you would like to take on?
Mr. Kitsunezuka: We have purchased the iSpring learning creation tool and plan to create internal training materials and further utilize e-learning.
Mr. Takasawa: Currently, only employee names can be registered on Moodle, but we are considering managing learners in the future. We also plan to integrate with our in-house HR system and implement operations at the organizational level to further utilize e-learning.
