Moodle Implementation, e-Learning Material Production Case
Introduction of e-Learning to Promote RPA Utilization

Utilizing RPA (Robotic Process Automation) to improve operational efficiency is our management goal,
and due to the necessity of promoting DX, we planned e-learning on "Logical Thinking," "Data Utilization," and "Overview of RPA," implemented through Moodle. We successfully created original e-learning materials and achieved cost reduction.

Customer Requests

"Aiming for business efficiency through the use of RPA"

――Please tell us about the background of the e-learning implementation.
Mr. Imai: Our company has set the goal of improving operational efficiency through the use of RPA. We believe that education on RPA, as well as IT training as a preliminary step, is necessary.
Given the need to promote DX, the Corporate Planning Department, which also handles information system functions, planned to implement "Logical Thinking," "Data Utilization," and "Overview of RPA" through e-learning.

――Please tell us the reasons for choosing our company.
Mr. Kitsuzuka: Initially, we considered using commercially available e-learning materials. However, since many are offered in a subscription format, it would become costly to implement long-term e-learning education for all employees, so we decided to create original e-learning materials.
Mr. Takazawa: We planned to start education in January 2022 and inquired with several companies in October 2021. Since we were in a hurry, we decided to place an order with Human Science Co., Ltd. because they had a quick response and good cost performance.
At the start, we considered launching without an e-learning system, but Human Science Co., Ltd. introduced us to Moodle, an LMS. It is open-source and can be built in an on-premise environment, so we installed it ourselves.
There were some settings and aspects we did not understand, and since there was not much time before the launch, we decided to ask Human Science Co., Ltd., which has a track record in construction.
We also considered other LMS options that could be built in an on-premise environment, but we chose Moodle because it is open-source and helps keep costs down.

Customer Feedback from Clients

"Professional narration and animation make it easy to read and understand"

――How has the response been since you started education through e-learning?
Mr. Kozuzuka: It is aimed at all employees, and more people are using it than initially planned.
Participants have commented that "the professional narration and animations make it easy to see and understand."
Additionally, the materials were created in PowerPoint, and by organizing them for e-learning, it has been beneficial that they can also be used as materials for group training and workshops.
Mr. Takazawa: Regarding Moodle, there are some things I don't understand about the operation methods, but it is being operated without any trouble.

―― How was the progress of the project and communication?
Mr. Kitsuzuka: It was our first attempt at e-learning, and we proceeded with trial and error.
I had a hard time imagining what kind of teaching materials would be produced, but I was pleased with the outcome, which exceeded my expectations.
Mr. Takazawa: Of course, meeting deadlines is important, but I felt that the same-day response to questions was excellent.
Regarding the introduction of Moodle, I received same-day responses to inquiries. From the pre-contract stage, I felt reassured as I received immediate answers to my questions about how it could be done and what could be achieved.

―― Do you have any plans for the future or new initiatives you would like to undertake?
Mr. Kitsuzuka: We have purchased the learning creation tool iSpring, so we plan to create teaching materials in-house and further promote the use of e-learning.
Mr. Takazawa: Currently, we can only register employee names on Moodle, but we will consider managing participants in the future. We plan to integrate with our internal HR system and implement operations at the organizational level, further enhancing its use.
