Finally, the deadline for the end of support for Adobe Flash Player is approaching.
Flash Player will be discontinued on December 31, 2020, and will no longer be usable from 2021.

    Adobe announces the end again

Adobe has updated the announcement page* and reiterated the details regarding the end of support.

    • The download page for Flash Player has been removed, and it will no longer be possible to download any versions, including older ones.
    • Execution in Flash Player will be blocked after the end of support date
    • No updates or security patches for Flash Player will be issued after the end of support date.
    • It is recommended to uninstall before the end of support date

It is clear that not only will support end, but Flash content will become completely inaccessible, such as blocking the execution of Flash Player.

What happens to e-learning materials created with Flash?

When the end of support for Flash Player was announced in 2017, there were hopes for the emergence of tools and technologies that could easily convert Flash content. Unfortunately, it seems that we will reach the end of support without such tools or technologies being released.

Transition from Flash to HTML5 and Video

At Human Science, we have converted and recreated numerous Flash materials into formats that can be used continuously. There are several methods for conversion and recreation, but the three we mainly propose are as follows.

Animate CC Video Conversion Simple Creation Tool
Overview Recreate Flash to HTML5 using Adobe Animate CC. Convert to video formats such as mp4. Create HTML5 from PowerPoint using Articulate Studio, iSpring, etc.
    Benefits High Reproducibility Low Cost
    No Fla Files Required
Short Delivery Time & Low Cost
    Work Period
    2 weeks or more

    1 week or more

    1 week or more

Materials created with Flash often have complex movements and mechanisms. Instead of giving up on all of them, if you want to recreate them as closely as possible, we recommend re-creating them using Adobe Animate CC.

Case Studies in Adobe Animate CC

    Training Company

    Plan: Adobe Animate CC
    Cost: 500,000 to 2,000,000 yen/material
Number of materials: 150 materials (scheduled from 2012 to 2020)
Content of materials: Language, Technology, etc.
Purpose of use of materials: Selling e-learning courses for companies and individuals
    • Adopted Animate CC to maintain the richness of animation expression and differentiate from competitors
    • Adjusted the interface, such as surfaces and operation buttons, to make it easier to learn on mobile devices

Let's reuse Flash format materials instead of throwing them away!

Flash Player will no longer be available, but there is no need to discard the Flash-based materials you have created.

Our company has been engaged in recreating from Flash to HTML5 and video for several years, accumulating a wealth of know-how and experience. Therefore, we can propose the best methods according to your needs.

Of course, the duration and budget may vary depending on the content and specifications, but there is a good possibility that we can accommodate cases where conversion has been given up, so please feel free to contact us.
